I've said for a long time that for enthusiast cameras to succeed there MUST be

an easy transition from smart phone to a 'real' camera. This may be it.

The Ricoh was an interesting approach to optimizing digital imagery by coupling each lens to it's own optimized sensor but Alice is an approach to cell phone interface with enthusiast class performance. Admit that I'm not aware of the GXR beyond a quick google search. Ricoh has done some interesting things so I'm not surprised that they'd have such a novel approach.

4. The back is the controller, the front is the lens and sensor.

With the GXR you had several choices of lens/sensor combos. They said it was pretty good.
