I especially like the last one, the little glass vase 2. The simplicity and the contrast between the glass and the lovely dark wood are just wonderful.

It's great to see you experimenting! This is a great way to learn whatever it is we want or need to learn to make great photos!

for your always kind and encouraging words! I’m sure I appear to be very much a beginner to you more experienced photographers.

It’s sort of a challenge to see what interesting things you can come up with in your own back yard (figuratively and literally) when traveling anywhere just isn’t practical these days.

And remember: we all started as beginners! You obviously have the "eye" which is a major benefit. You instinctively know what will work and that you will always have!

Keep shooting! It's great to see what you've got.

Negative space in the fourth one is very good.

Take a look at paintings by one of my favorites, Caravaggio. The dutch masters like Vermeer also seem to have a knack for light. Both display passion for light, Caravaggio embraced the dark, Vermeer embraced the light.

Although it’s been way too many years ago, I do remember those artists from taking Art History back in my college days.... perhaps they made more of an impression on me than I realized! But you brought them back to my memory. Thank you for your kind comments.
