bbbbiggg cypress swamp.
such a great trip. i had a peterson's tape of bird calls. sitting around the fire, i was playing the owls. we heard some barred owl replies in the distance, then they went quiet.
next thing we knew, they started up again. close. looked up and there were a half a dozen in the trees all around us.
i still get goosebumps thinking about it.

The close damp, maybe even steaminess of the fog and the image of the trees reflecting amid the ripples are evocative of mystery. Anything might happen in that environment.
