The only shot I got

Saw this very large guy lumbering up the tree in front of my window. By the time I grabbed the camera and ran outside that is the only picture I got.
Fortunately the face is quite recognizable and I think very pretty.
He was WAY bigger than a big cat.

when startled are pretty intimidating. I defiantly wouldn’t want to mess with one.

Beautiful photo of your neighborhood raccoon. What a lovely face, very curious to see what all the running around was about. The picture looks like it might be late afternoon, closing in on dusk.

Thank you, Mira, for posting it.

and the bloom is getting of the 'coon a bit They apparently not only are dangerous to small animals and pets, but apparently should not be visible like that on an early afternoon. Rabies could be suspected. I'm keeping my little pooch inside, and also all doors with dog flaps closed.

And they're flea-infested most of the time too.

Is there a local Animal Control Officer that could trap it? We have a lot of them out here in the country but I've never seen one in daylight... that's worriesome.
