I would love to go paddling in the "swamps", but I do not like alligators or snakes.

Gators main diet is aquatic protein. Fish are pretty fast but fellow reptiles and amphibians not so much plus they share the same section of the same habitat as gators, hence snakes, turtles and frogs make up the bulk of a gator's diet. That and the occasional rat, possum or golden retriever . . .

Oh, and gators grow as long as they live and once they get the size of this one they live as long as they want to.
