Related: About this forumWhen Macro just isn't enough.
Macro is usually considered to be about 1:1 or life size. In other words take a picture of an ant, kill the ant, put it on the sensor and the ant and image are the same size.
This is a flight feather of a white wing dove at 10x life size. It's a 3mmx4mm section or for us 'Mericans it's 1/8 inch on the long side more or less.
Kinda' uninteresting so I threw in a colored gel.
Not the most fascinating subject but it's a start to perfect the process. Hope for more interesting stuff later on when I can concentrate on subject and not so much process.

(31,996 posts)The pink is definitely more eye-catching, but for some reason I like the white one better. I dunno, maybe because I can see more detail?

(9,859 posts)i'm guessing for 10x you're using a microscope objective.
i've used reverse mounted wide angle lenses to get 2.4x and then added tubes to get more magnification. your DoF will be razor thin, of course, but with an olympus you probably have built in focus stacking.
i did a bit of focus stacking with my lumix GH4 and olympus 60mm macro using the 4k post focus functionality with pretty good results
this was also a stack using the nikon d7200 and reversed 24mm lens and a motorized rail:
