The Red Admiral & the Red-banded Hairstreak

Both butterflies are feeding off the sap.

Red Admiral (left) & Red-namded hairstreak (right)

They blend well with the bark.

We have both of these down here, but I had no idea they drank sap. Course, since they blend in so well with the bark, I have not noticed them.
