Baby Mushrooms!

So I'm raising Blue Oyster Mushrooms. Got a 'kit' and followed directions. Supposed to be the replacement for bread making for isolation but I'm just interested in some photos. And eating them of course.

This is about 1:1 macro. In camera focus stacked; 15 images at 1/20th & f8.

In ten days they will be ready to harvest. Hmmm, ribeye and mushrooms . . .

I'm hoping they spread out a little as they grow. flamin lib Feb 2021 #3

They look just wonderful. I love how crowded they are, as though they're trying to get someplace!

It's a beautiful composition.

Right now the whole cluster is only 2" by 1". Oyster mushrooms can be quite graceful. They also come in two colors, blue and red (more orange).

If this works out I may make a mushroom bed in the yard and try morels in the spring. If they propagate the bed should be self sustaining. If the deer don't eat them . . .

Hoping for better compositions and more interesting pictures as they grow.

I had to take pictures of something. I'd say shoot something but that conjures up a whole 'nother image. Besides the camera did all the work, all I did was buy a $12 brick of sawdust with fungus on it.

Hopefully there will be better compositions and more interesting pictures in the next week.
