The first one is not in the calendar, but has a shyer demeanor. It has an expression we don't often see. Detail juxtaposed with a deeper darkness. Mystery there.

It looks more like the moon! The craters and seas on the first one are too obscured.

I tend to agree with you. I felt the first photo was a bit too dark, so I worked on it to produce this version.
