(35,926 posts)It was years ago, but I think my kids and I drove to the top of the overlook, or else the Grand Staircase Escalante. We'd just stayed at both the northern and southern ends of the Grand Canyon, later drove past the fabulous rock formations in that area (Mexican Hat?); anyway, the whole Four Corners area is beautiful.

(1,554 posts)Ive hiked the Buckskin Gulch/Paria Canyon trail to the Colorado River at Lees Ferry area. One of the most epic hikes Ive done. Supposedly, the longest slot canyon in the world. Buckskin is amazing!
We got in before the permitting and the crowds started.
I miss my canyoneering days, hope to get back out there and in them soon!
