Pink Floyd, The Grateful Dead and others did the soundtrack for the film directed by Antonioni. It is anti-establishment and unusual, especially the ending. The female lead married Dennis Hopper eventually.

The movie Zabriskie Point also featured a psychedelic Cessna T-210 and a 1952 Buick.
