(304 posts)Younglings have told me that it means no text. In this case, simply thank you for the picture. Blood pressure reducer for me.

(12,245 posts)A VERY well-run site with a GREAT membership. Extremely welcoming and supportive, but no one puts up with bullshit. Self-curated, and a very high premium put on truth and accuracy.

(12,903 posts)Everything you've written is what I'm finding out daily. Best of all is the no bullshit. And expectations of truth and accuracy - both of which have been abused and altered over the last five years. It is very nice to read other members' opinions and advice. Glad to have an outlet for my photography too.

(12,245 posts)Isn't it fantastic to be able to feel confident in what you're reading? All in all, you've landed on your feet by coming here.
I'll watch for your photography.

(12,903 posts)It feels like there is new life to democracy these days and I'm encouraged by what I read and see here.

(12,245 posts)Now, I have to let you know you've been conversing - quite nicely, if I may say so - with a moron.
It just occurred to me that the two horses in the OP were captured by you. Am I right? I sure feel like I am, and that's pretty obtuse on my part. Great picture...full of joy, as I said before.
George McGovern
(12,903 posts)Of course I'm guessing "sub" is far closer to "genius" than "moron."
As it turns out neither of those horses is ours. My wife hosts horsemanship clinics here from time to time. The near horse belongs to the instructor of the clinic that was going on at the time, the other to one of the participants. They were turned out in one of our pastures during their "down time." I take pictures at these clinics so my camera was handy when these two horses got to running around.
My wife also runs a boarding farm for retired horses whose owners leave them in our care. These owners believe their horses have given all they had to their humans when they all were younger and deserve a quiet, safe, comfortable retirement. The business has worked out quite well.
BobTheSubgenius
(12,245 posts)I didn't mean that the horses were yours, I meant the photo. The connection just slipped past me, as so many things do. It's wonderful, and you should take more credit for your efforts!
George McGovern
(12,903 posts)Never been good about taking credit. Reading DU members' comments is helping with that. Thanks!

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
