(149,583 posts)I love them all, but the second one is particularly special.
It has layers and bokeh, and I love it.

(60,071 posts)I've been shooting with manual lenses. That forces me to take my time.
This lens was only $69 new.

(5,420 posts)I'm with Peggy, love the middle photo! What is your new lens? Looks like a very good one!

(60,071 posts)You can get great images from an under $100 lens. This is the one I was using. It's a 35mm but is actually a 70mm on MFT bodies.
I also have a Laowa 17mm that exceeded my expectation. It was over $100, but still gives great bang fur the buck.
Using a manual lens will change how you shoot. Hopefully it is quality over quantity.

(5,420 posts)I have not shot manually in a long time. "Spoiled" by autofocus. But I recall how using manual focus means having to slow down to take a picture. Unlike autofocus, perfect manual focus takes a little longer to achieve. Shooting for quality over quantity.
You do a wonderful job with your inexpensive lenses. I'll have to try taking my Olympus out of Aperture Priority and setting it for Manual and see what happens. Thanks!

(60,071 posts)My late brother in law was a master gardener there. They have a plaque and a Kentucky Coffee tree placed as a memorial to him. You see the garden vista, I see Tom.

(1,323 posts)And very inspiring--I am planning a trip to a nearby arboretum next month. Not my usual photography subject but I want to see what I can do with what's there. I hope I come close to yours!
