Harbinger of beautiful things to come . . .

A wee baby brand new Prickly Pear fruit! The Texas freeze was hard on the cactus, freezing back about half the paddles which has mixed results. Yes the plant looks a mess BUT with the healthy root system and only half the plant to feed the remaining paddles will be extra prolific with blooms!

It looks like it's ready to take on the world and more!

Plus, this is a wonderful close-up. All the little prickly parts are sticking up, saying look out world--here we come!
