I wanted to say The (fill in the blank) on the wall is even prettier than the real thing.

I had been outside and came in to see this. Late day sun coming through the windows across the room were hitting the vase just right to cause the shadow/reflection on the wall.

(5,420 posts)I'm thinking many, if not most, people, upon entering the house and seeing this scene might say oh, that's pretty and walk away. But you aimed and focused and gave us this gorgeous image. Thank You!

(16,348 posts)Also reminds me of the glassware my husband collects. That piece would look right at home next to a lot of his stuff. Good thing I enjoy looking at it myself!

I lost most of the glass I had collected over 30 some years in a house fire in 2007. I've always especially loved colored glass. My grandmother had a turn of the 19th to 20th century amberina glass vase that I hoped to have but my brother and his wife took it when our parents significantly downsized. I bought this piece for my new house and so far I've really enjoyed it. But today it knocked my socks off.

We learn to see the world in a rectangle, to frame and to make things otherwise missed in passing important.
It's why we do what we do.
