Missed splashdown...the osprey slipped behind a tree and I lost 'em for a bit.

(34,095 posts)I only just saw mine this year as it went totally under the water, came up and shook off as it rose back into the air. All the years I watch as they migrate through and I finally got to see that. Great pictures. Such amazing birds to watch. Thanks for posting those.

(130,734 posts)I NEVER catch them fishing, mostly just hanging around on their nest (and later, feeding kids.)
Where were these taken? (Mine's in southern MD.)
in Eastern Massachusetts.
There is a pair of them, and we see them for a few days, then they are gone again for a couple of days.
Your picture on the nest is great! We have no idea where our osprey nest is. Someone on the lake probably knows.
