(99,645 posts)We have snow coming by tomorrow night. Thanks for sharing this blast of springtime!

(33,080 posts)We had freezing or near freezing temps for two days twice since I started planting this garden in late March. Both episodes very unusual. Did some damage to new growth on azaleas and star jasmine. Stunted some hydrangeas so badly I've decided to pull them out.
Hope the snow doesn't ruin any new growth for you.

(99,645 posts)We keep bouncing back and forth between a few days of summer-like weather then a few days of wintery weather. I have long wanted to plant sweet onions and have never seen starts for them until last April. They were selling fresh Walla-Walla plants at the grocery I go to. So of course I bought two bunches. I quickly realized they needed to be outside in dirt right away so I set them out in a raised bed that I can cover. They have spent more time until covers than not since I put them in there. It's snowed at least three times since the planting. They are established enough to where I only cover them when it gets below +38F. So they will go back under the covers for a few days. The bulbs up against the house have survived everything but the deer and rabbits. Everything here has to be tough, it is Montana after all.

(13,189 posts)Having moved to Texas where we are limited in our use of water, its difficult to grow such gorgeous plants so its lovely to see your photos. I think I will never get adjusted to cacti. They just are not beautiful! Until this last February, though, I would have said that our winters are really nice compared with having to shovel two feet of snow! Now Im not so sure.

(33,080 posts)but we do get a little snow some years. This past winter was cold and rainy. Very wet. And soon we'll get the heat and humidity of summer. I'm hoping for a wet one so I won't have to water this new garden quite so much

(129,313 posts)In mid April. Hundreds of varieties of succulents, many in bloom. They were exquisite.

(33,080 posts)January 6th. I wanted to get the garden in before it turned hot (90's) so it took a lot of effort right away. It's already paying off!

(19,902 posts)You certainly have a talent for it. A beautiful garden is so uplifting in so many ways. You should be very proud of your efforts. 😊
