A 'dusting' of raindrops

We're getting some MUCH needed rain so, of course, I had to go outside and relish the feeling of a cool rain shower. Then I noticed the Iris.

Lucky you, for the rain. We sure could use some. The Iris in these parts (the South) have come and gone. The ones in this yard are the same color, but with a yellow etching of highlights in the center of the blooms, at the base of the petals. That's a wonderful photo, thanks for posting it, Siwsan.

Can't waaaaaaaaaaait!!! I LOVE it when it rains! We have a clump of iris too. Looks like they've flowered and done their thing by now, but they sure were beautiful while they lasted. The deep purple kind. I love how this one in your photo has all these little "secrets" showing!
