Related: About this forumIt has taken me ALL SUMMER, but I finally got some photos of a Monarch Butterfly!
I've been trying and trying, since they first appeared but non would stay put long enough. But today, my luck most definitely changed.

(57 posts)I used to see plenty of monarchs in my neck of the woods and then an area of milk weeds were destroyed to widen a road.
Now my monarchs are much harder to find
Moral: Plant milk weeds (and other plants that insects need)

(4,722 posts)What a beautiful creature. So glad you kept up your quest to take some pictures of a Monarch Butterfly. It has been years since I've seen one in nature around here in North Carolina.

(33,470 posts)I have chased migrating Monarchs when at the beach here in NC in October. It is SO hard to get a good shot of them!
