Stunning catch, indeed. It took me a minute to realize that there are other birds in this photo! They are very well camouflaged.

I also like how the blackbird is heading into the open space on the left. You captured the scene very well!

You captured just the right pose of the bird to show off it’s beautiful feather markings. And the composition of the photo draws my eye straight to it. Well Done!

When I was a kid, there was a farm pond with lots of cattails and red-wing blackbirds. My favorite place to just sit and observe.

No this blackbird was diving back for more bird seed on the ground.

"Your" farm pond sounds idyllic.
