(1,375 posts)However, I picture you setting-up equipment on your balcony at about 3:30am where the temperature is ever-so-slightly above freezing just waiting oh-so-patiently for the sun to arise so that you might catch the first few drops of OMG!...click-now, click-now, my frozen little click-finger...got it (!).

(12,922 posts)what usually happens is my wife gets up, sees a pretty sky out the bedroom window and says to me "pretty sky," at which point I totally take her word for it, get dressed hurriedly, grab camera and shoot hand-held from the back porch. Fingers do get cold though.
Your balcony setting is more dramatic. But I'm not.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
