Anyone watching Genius, the Nat Geo series

On the life of Einstein? I have such sympathy for Mileva Maric´, his first wife.

Here's an excellent and insightful interview with the beautiful Samantha Colley, the actress playing her:

Colley's portrayal is amazing.

Although Maric's challenges were social and intellectual, they were brought into sharp relief with a single camera shot that showed Maric struggling up the street, alone and fighting her corrective shoe the whole way. Something in me died a little when I saw that. My heart went out to her. It was heartbreaking...

Terrific story, although I could have done without the image of older, fright-wig Einstein having sex with his pants down around his ankles...

The acting, writing, directing - everything about the series draws viewers in. Ron Howard and Brian Grazer have hit another one out of the park.

Since I had read some about Einstein's life, I knew he was no saint but he seemed particularly cruel to Mileva, just as history has been. She was brilliant but had to fight so hard - it's as if everything in that era conspired to hold her down.

I corrected my spelling of Ms. Colley's name, btw. She is such a brilliant actress.

And, yes, I could have done without that scene too but it quickly humanize Einstein, as has the whole series. He was indeed a genius with some great character flaws.
