(34,195 posts)I like "The People's Court" with Judge Marilyn Milian.
Except when she has a hissy fit if anyone refers to her as ma'am.
She tells them it's the same as calling a male judge 'buddy'.
I think it would compare to calling a male judge 'sir'.

(3,163 posts)She goes into screaming fits of moral outrage, which gets on my nerves. She is supposedly presiding over a court of law, but dives into an impersonation of Dr. Phil at the drop of a hat.
She also maintains no courtroom discipline, allowing her litigants to turn the show into something resembling Jerry Springer.
I record her show so that I can fast forward through the Dr. Phil and Jerry Springer portions.

(34,195 posts)Most or all of the other TV court shows ask for and accept a 'police report'.
J.J. often laughs at and redicules the people appearing before her.
I guess some folks like the carnival atmosphere.
