Jeopardy: What's your take on Katie Couric?

I love her but found her a little too mechanical. But even if she is a TV pro, it's a new gig.

Ken. His immense and obvious love of the game is what makes the difference for me.

4. I liked Ken Jennings.

I liked the producer guy all right, too, but he just didn't seem Jeopardy. Alex Trebek and Ken Jennings seem Jeopardy, and that's why I hope Jennings ends up with the permanent gig. I haven't seen Couric yet but I have a feeling she won't seem Jeopardy either. I have about a week's worth of episodes DVRd and haven't watched them yet.

This is kind of fun to see these folks attempt to do what is probably a hard job.
Considering I have only seen one day and it was her first, I thought she did well.

8. I have a critic with bad hearing

who watches it with me every day, my bestie/roomie.

She wears serious hearing aids; even so, she can't hear higher ranges and can't comprehend if the person doesn't articulate well, or if they run out of air before they run out of sentence.

So far: Alex was perfect for her.

Ken Jennings was a little too high pitched, didn't articulate, and didn't have good breath control so the end of words or sentences dopplered away.

The producer did very well. She had no difficulty with anything about his speech.

Katy Couric is NOT doing well after one episode. Too high pitched, talks too fast, slurs or slides over some words. She was ready to throw the tv into the trash at the end of the show.

So we'll see how the next one fares!!

13. IMO good game show hosts know how to bring out the drama of the game

Trebeck had mastered Jeopardy—he brought out the drama without using hoke.

Couric is two days in. I think she's smooth but a tad flat.

Not only is it despicable to have Oz host Jeopardy but they are matching contestant winnings with contributions to his Sham Charity. His hero Trump must be proud..
