Did anyone else notice that the end tonight was channeling the end Of Mice and Men?
I am convinced the creative team is capable of almost anything at this point. Even more gruesome than the comic. When you have a dirty job just call Carol. In the comic the adults just stood around debating what to do next. It was left for a child to take decisive action.

(17,862 posts)wants to stay alive in this world. It is simply hopeless. For every big can of pudding or pecans eaten, you have the unending horrors - both man and walking dead. Herschel was right when he saw the look on Rick's face as Sophia left the barn. At least Herschel did not have to see his daughters die in front of him. Jacqui's death was quick and painless (as opposed to T-Dog, Dale, Lori, Andrea, etc).

(22,340 posts)I think the comic was almost more horrible because it was Carl that had to do the unthinkable. TV-land would have lost their shit if Carl had killed her like he did the twin in the comic.

(32,652 posts)if she cries for too long? It's true that Lizzy probably couldn't be around people, but I'm wondering if Carol is any better.

(17,862 posts)kill Judith is if the situation is hopeless and Judith is on the point of being eaten. Otherwise Carol will die first. George killed Lenny to prevent him from being lynched in an awful manner. I think Carol saw that as the only way for Lizzie - that or allow her to change and wander like Morgan decided to do with his son in the comic.

(22,340 posts)Lizzy was a sociopath. What do you do with a sociopath? Can't put them in a mental institution. In the comic, Carl kills the child sociopath because he knew it needed to be done and he knew the adults wouldn't be able to do it.
Carol does what needs to be done for the good of the group.
What would you have done with Lizzy?
You don't see a difference in the two situations?
Lizzy just couldn't be around people, she was a threat to anyone around her. There are no asylums and no docs around to try and fix her, and if you leave her alone she's either going to endanger other people or get bit playing with a zombie.
In that universe, killing her was really the best of bad options.

(32,652 posts)a different picture emerges. Rick was right to kick her out.

(22,340 posts)The two she killed in the jail, from what we now know about the sickness, were dead anyway. She indicated they were almost dead at that point. She killed them and then burned them in an attempt to hold off the spread of the germs.
She was doing what nobody else would do.
Perhaps they are going down the road of her being a liability, but she's just doing the shitty things nobody else wants to do. Even Tyrese realizes that.

(22,340 posts)Once Daryl and his new crew catches up to Rick and crew, one of the new crew is going to call "dibs" on Carl and/or Michone. Even though they subdue them, Rick is going to go bad ass and kill them. Or some variation of that.
I don't think we will find out jack about Terminus. Personally, I don't think Terminus can be bad--just because they can't just keep going down. There has to be some ups or every time they go somewhere it has to be worse than the last one.

(22,340 posts)I was certain they were setting that up just for this moment. Why NOT have this guy say that?
