Related: About this forumAnyone have details on Tea Leone's new show 'Madame Secretary'?
I've only caught glimpses of the ads but had begun to think the show might be worth at least a fair trial. Then the other day a new ad came on, which once again I only caught a fleeting glimpse. But it seemed her character was apologizing/explaining something to a character who might well be the president in this show. I got one good look at his face and thought, OMG a Romney lookalike! Somebody please tell me I was mistaken. If my first impression of that snippet is accurate, I won't be able to survive the horror of a single whole episode. I haven't seen the snippet since for a more informed impression.

(6,151 posts)face I saw that made me almost scream in horror. I don't think I was trippin' either! I realize we'll never get West Wing back, and producers want controversy - but they'll have to do it w/o making me puke or I won't watch. I don't like Tea Leone THAT much!

(4,539 posts)Tea Leoni's character is named Elizabeth McCord, and Tim Daly plays Henry McCord, so he plays her husband. I don't see a resemblance between Keith Carradine (whom I adore) and Romney, and Tim Daly is too young to look like him, so I don't know who you saw that made you freak out aout a Romney lookalike!

A favorite of my husband's... We watch a film version every year during the holidays (or many versions, if he has his way).

(6,151 posts)Which is your favorite movie version? I still favor the old b&w original with Alistair Somebody or Other; the best scene is where Scrooge wakes up and chases his housekeeper down the stairs. She thinks he's a ghost and screams in fright, reasonable enough since he's cackling like a madman in his glee at waking up alive. That scene always turns my ticklebox over.
footnote: Last night I caught another glimpse of the Madame Secretary cast member in question, and he DOES look like Romney to me, anyway.

(4,539 posts)I think hubby's favorite is the one with George C. Scott, and then the Patrick Stewart one, but he likes any and all of them!
So, which cast member is it that you're looking at? Younger guy? Older guy? Must be dark-haired, right? I'm thinking it must be Tim Daly, the one playing her husband, the one madfloridan mentioned. Keith Carradine, the actor playing the president, is silver-haired. So, at least I don't think your Romney lookalike is playing the president.
