45 just endorsed Doug Ducey

I think this tweet is two-fold. First, 45 frequently endorses the front runner right before an election then takes credit for the win. Tomorrow is the primary and incumbent Ducey has a strong lead against Secretary of State Ken Bennett. Secondly, he must be very concerned about who Ducey will pick as McCain's replacement.

2. Ducey's reaction to Trump makes me optimistic for Democrats in the fall

The polls do as well.

Texas and Arizona may both have a slightly different feel in a few months.

Some of your Governors and Sheriffs made me a little wary about living there.

9. I remember Tucson as a wonderful place
Mon Aug 27, 2018, 07:34 PM
Aug 2018

Lived there in the mid to late eighties when it was awesome... a retirement haven for Ivy League professors, Linda Ronstadt's Brother was Chief of Police(Ronstadts are an early Tucson family) and Lee Marvin headed up my parents' Neighborhood Watch bkz he liked to don his Marine uniform & drive his pick up around.
Education, spirituality, recovery were all major dynamics in the culture-economics of Tucson back then, and that footprint seems to have expanded not declined. Tucson is still way cooler (culturally, politically and literally by at least summer 10 degrees) than Phoenix, that's for sure.

But as a native Phoenician, I do prefer the Valley. Especially our access to all the professional sports.

15. Tucsonan, here.

Moved here in 1979 and raised a family.
The Liberal atmosphere is wonderful compared to what I put up with in my old home town of Springfield, Illinois.
There seems to be something regressive and conservative about state capitols.

16. The cities of Phoenix are HEAVILY Democratic.

Democrats win mayor and city council positions handily and often unopposed.

We get killed in the suburbs.

Trump didn't get 50% in AZ and only won by 3, 48 to 45

We need to increase Latino vote and we go blue.

We have a good chance of turning both Senate seats blue. Krysten Sinema is leading for Flake's seat and if Capt. Kelly runs for McCain's seat he would win by a landslide IMO.

Arizona doesn't have gerrymandering and currently splits 5 Republicans and 4 Democrats. It could go 6-3 Dems if we get both Lesko and McSally's seat.

Gosar's seat is +R 23 but his parents, brother's and sisters all travel to the district begging the people of Prescott to vote him out of office.

A good strong blue wave could turn AZ blue in two months.

6. Looks like this is more about McCain's replacement
Mon Aug 27, 2018, 05:56 PM
Aug 2018

Just saw on CNN that there is meager discussion about Cindy McCain as a possible replacement among others. Can't imagine Trump wants another McCain. It seems there is more going on in the background. If Ducey had a strong dislike for Trump, or really wanted to run from him, he would appoint Cindy McCain, but I think Ducey would be alienating a lot of Trump base by appointing her. I don't think it's going to happen. Trump knows Ducey will appoint the replacement, and he sent out the above tweet.

8. I think that McCain's replacement is weighing heavy on Donald's mind

It's been said that during Ducey's visits to McCain's ranch in recent months that McCain asked him to appoint Cindy, and that Cindy has been preparing. I can't think of another reason why McCain didn't step down months ago when he knew he wouldn't be returning to Washington. Cindy would be a far more moderate choice than any other AZ Republican I can think of right now and probably a thorn in Donald's side.
It will be interesting to see what happens next week.

Makes sense Trump would want the primary win without lending any material support to Ducey.
