CDC was taken out of the picture. I also wonder how many people are being tested. I've heard there have been problems with testing, and suspect that they are testing less, which will yield lower numbers but more cases are out there uncounted Stupid rethugs.

I check a table posted on NPR, that lists average daily totals for the current and 3 prior weeks.
Last week Arizona averaged just over 3000 cases per day, down from almost 3500 the week before. Masks are not a statewide requirement, but many cities and retailers require them.

Still, I hope this signals a trend that cases are declining there. I live in NC, where we've seen slow but a steady increase, seems like forever. 3 weeks ago daily average was 1300 cases daily, this week we're at 2000+. We've required masks since June 26, just over 3 weeks. Maybe we'll start seeing a decline soon.

The number is likely low - Arizona always underreports on Monday, because of limited testing on the weekend. But the trend in Arizona is down, albeit slowly.
From anecdotal experience, since the cities started requiring masks, compliance has been way up.

We're far from out of the woods, but we seem to be moving in the right direction - hopefully Ducey doesn't take this as a sign to open everythign back up, and hopefully Trump won't schedule another visit to the state, prompting Ducey to relax everything again...

Sorry, I did understand it was a state report.

I mentioned CDC only to point out it adds to my skepticism regarding numbers. Lol

I do hope the trend is real and continues. NY beat it back, so it's possible!

Wearing masks and social distancing really helps. Good that your governor allowed cities to impose mandates that his red self wouldn't impose statewide. Poor Georgia, their governor is disallowing/suing against any mandates set by cities.
