Two boxes of food available each month

Good morning. This is a reminder for those who live in the valley. If you know of anyone who needs food please send them to St. Stephen's food bank. It's located at N. 56th Street and East Oak by the Papago Buttes. St. Mary's now gives each family 2 food boxes a month. You cannot get them on the same day. You will need photo identification and a mask. The hours are 9 to noon.

A food box this Wednesday and then the person can pick up the first food box for November next week if they choose.

here in South FLorida.

Since the pandemic they have stopped serving meals but we and others have been giving them pre-packed meals that don't need to be refrigerated and it seems as if the people really like them.

Things like Hormel's diners do not need refrigeration; they have meals like chicken with mashed potatoes, meatloaf, pot roast etc.

Also people bring protein bars, canned ravioli, those snack crackers that they give you in the hospital, fruits like oranges and apples. Even those ramen noodles that come in their own cup that you just add hot water to.

There are plenty of pre-packed foods that homeless people can use now that they cannot go to the same places to eat.

Just a thought.
