Asa Hutchinson considering another run for governor?

You might remember Asa Hutchinson-- he was a Republican Congressman from the 3rd district who was in office at the same time his brother Tim was a US Senator. Both are from Bentonville, in Benton County (Now we have a Republican US Senator and 3rd district representative who are both from Bentonville's neighbor, Rogers). Anyway, Asa left the Congress in 2001 to work in bu$h's misadministration, then made an unsuccessful run for governor against current governor Mike Beebe in 2006. Term limits mean that Beebe will not be eligible to run for governor again, and there is speculation that Asa Hutchinson might make another run for Beebe's job. Given the current political climate in Arkansas (bleah), it would appear that Hutchinson would have a better chance of winning than he did in 2006. Is there anyone on the Democratic horizon who would have a good chance of keeping the governorship in Democratic hands?

The last thing we need is a Republican legislature, a Republican lieutenant governor, and a Republican governor! Bleah!

This new breed of R's ain't (Winthrop) Rockefeller Republicans, that's for sure

Ugh! I've been tweeting up the storm to Jason Rapeher and #arleg. we're organizing for a protest next Saturday.

Federal Judge struck down anti abortion law in Idaho as you know so more likely they will strike down both Mayberry's and Rapert's, but it will be costly to us taxpapers. Don't they have bigger fish to fry? Guns, God & Abortions...I am so sick of them!

My mom's neighbors, for example, are so anti-abortion that they will vote a straight Republican ticket just for that issue alone. They're probably high-fiving each other over this abortion bill.

No doubt they miss the "good old days" of "Little Rock" and "hillbillies", when Arkansas was the butt of national jokes, including on Hanna-Barbera cartoons.
