AR-SD26: Early voting in state Senate District 26 Primary Special Election to begin Tuesday

FORT SMITH -- Over the next week, voters across much of the River Valley will be able to head to the polls to cast their vote on who will represent the Republican Party in the race for the District 26 seat in the Arkansas State Senate.

Early voting in the special election primary starts Tuesday with five Republican candidates in the running for the seat. Those candidates are Brad Simon, Mark Berry, Stacie Smith, Ted Tritt and Wade Dunn.

The winner of the Jan. 6 special primary will face the only independent in the race, Adam Watson, in the March 3 special election. No Democrats entered the race, according to Sebastian County election officials.

There will be six early voting sites open across four River Valley counties, with those in Franklin, Logan and Johnson counties open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Monday. The early voting site in Sebastian County will be open slightly later, closing at 5 p.m.
