Joint Statement from California Legislative Leaders on Result of Presidential ElectionWe have never been more proud to be Californians.
By a margin in the millions, Californians overwhelmingly rejected politics fueled by resentment, bigotry, and misogyny.
The largest state of the union and the strongest driver of our nations economy has shown it has its surest conscience as well.
California is and must always be a refuge of justice and opportunity for people of all walks, talks, ages and aspirations regardless of how you look, where you live, what language you speak, or who you love.

(825 posts)...voted democrat in every local election. Not one republican was voted in or re-elected. The population of Houston is majority hispanic. We have an afro-american mayor, police chief and a hispanic county sheriff. Our previous mayor, who was re-elected several times is a lesbian. We are sort of an island in the middle of Mordor.

Keep up the good work, Jerry Brown and some others are an inspiration and example of how well progressive government works for both people and industry.
