I'm in Issa's 49th District and I have a question

I'm wondering why Issa called for an independent special prosecutor regarding Russia/Trump?

Maybe he knows something is coming and trying to save his political skin?
Doug Applegate has a good shot of beating him in 2018.

Why did this otherwise extreme RWnut go there?

Issa only won by 1 point. The party losing the presidency usually improves in the next congressional race. So to survive Issa MUST move left, or at least move away from Trump.

Nunes won't do anything, so it's a safe position to call for an independent prosecutor because it won't happen.

Makes him look less partisan.

He's still an asshole.
