Related: About this forumWoke up this morning to a steady, light rain drumming on the roof.
It's been coming down steady all day, with the occasional heavy spell. Supposed to continue through tomorrow.
Man, I do love the rain.

(3,605 posts)I just happen to be staying home sick (flu), and my commute would have me out standing in the rain a bit, so I guess today is a good day to stay home and listen to the rain all day.
This flu is a doozy!! I don't think I'll make it in tomorrow either.

(15,805 posts)and out of the pouring rain, she decides to go splash in every puddle and run through the mud. Rain doesn't happen too often here in the desert, so it is a novel experience and I could not tempt her to come inside. She played like a puppy, and not even a peanut butter sammich, or hors d'oeuvres made with the stinky kitteh noms she always tries to filch, could get her attention. I finally had to close the door and watch her through the window as she had fun in rain until she was finally ready to come inside.
An hour later and I finally have her mostly dry, she has a thick, warm double coat with very long hair, so she isn't wet to the skin. I'm exhausted, but my big girl ate her treats and now she's happily dozing, oblivious to muddy, hairy mess on the kitchen floor and the huge pile of dirty towels to be laundered.
Its still raining. I'm too tired for a repeat.

(16,402 posts)It's been very heavy at times, coming down hard. I hear we can expect a decent snow pack in the mountains, too.
