On Nov 9, 2017, Christopher Ballew was accosted by police for having allegedly tinted windows. Officers Lerry Esparza and Zachary Lujan brutally assaulted him, and then filed deceptive police reports on the incident which accused Ballew of various offenses, which their own dash & body cameras conclusively prove he is innocent of having committed. All charges against Ballew have been dropped, but the officers still have not been disciplined. In this video, we put the available footage under a microscope in order to determine EXACTLY what happened that night.

(4,192 posts)And *especially* we need to get rid of these police chiefs who hire them. Are we such a poor nation that we hire the worst kinds of people to guard our society, its laws and people? It seems we have this archetype of what a police officer should be that unfortunately includes a sense of cruelty and disdain for people outside their own circles. That has to change. We may as well be hiring demons to look over the general population.

(1,619 posts)To Pasadena's credit Chief Sanchez did resign. Know locally as "Junta Hat" because of the cop lids he wore. But it wasn't just for the Ballew incident. There were other things as well. Check out the Pasadena Weekly article. This was a bad dude.
