(9,696 posts)Also, still can't resolve the Feinstein/DeLeon conundrum if any one would like to weigh in.
Retrograde
(10,133 posts)and if Feinstein is re-elected, she becomes head of the Senate Judiciary Committee, which means that she has a big role in deciding which nominees for court seats go on for a full senate vote. I believe she'll also be one of the most senior Democrats, period.
This would also be her last term: while she's still physically and mentally sound, the job does take its toll. If she does step down partially through her term and if De Leon runs for the seat then I have no problems voting for him. However, seniority counts for an awful lot in the Senate, and I don't think we should throw that away.

(9,696 posts)I was not happy with DeLeon attacking her, as opposed to him giving a reason to vote for him. That being said, DeLeon is supposedly more liberal/progressive than Feinstein (though I haven't had much issue with her) and that is always good.
