Looks like the CA EDD Unemployment Insurance site is crashing right now

Canít get past the initial login.

Iím guessing it is being overwhelmed with the latest wave of applicants for UI benefits.

Next logjam will be on 4/28, when the site opens a new portal for independent contractors, 1099 workers etc who were not previously eligible for UI to apply for benefits under the CARES Act expansion.

I am guessing that 40-50 million Americans will have filed for UI by June.

1. I have been trying for days and gave up

Every time I try to create an account it doesnít like my password or the pictures youíre supposed identify donít work. Iím just going to wait it out. Iím glad my parents instilled in me saving for a rainy day. I am not panicking but it this goes on longer then 6 months I am screwed.

3. Yeah

Filed over a month ago and can't access the site online but I received a snail mail confirmation and my claim is active. I need to find my CA EDD debit card to check if they're dropping funds in it. Thanks for the reminder.

5. You still need to certify for benefits every two weeks.

Otherwise they fund nothing.

6. I filed this past Sunday....

I got through it with no problem at all (Thank God).....I'm thinking that it's because it was on a Sunday afternoon and maybe not a lot of people were online at that time.
