Any websites that give fire updates? The Bobcat fire is burning in the mountains just north of me.

I've been watching the progress every night and day as it gets closer, but today, visibilty is maybe 100 feet, the mountains are invisible, no idea what's happening.
My PD was totally blase' about it over the phone, saying *maybe* they'll do some kind of Amber Alert on phones if needed or *maybe* they'll drive around with loudspeakers on telling people to leave.
I'd like some actual information though!
Here's the view from my balcony last night before bed. No idea this morning how much further down the fire has come:

3. Try your local Sheriff's department's website

or their Facebook page. They are usually the ones to call for evacuations and carry them out. Calfire has a website, but it is not updated very frequently so it's not of much use for current information.

6. Holy Moly! I'm in Sonoma county and we signed up to get alerts from local agencies thru the use

of a Nixle account.

https://local.nixle.com/county/ca/sonoma/

You can get yours customized to your zip code. I don't know if it is available in your zip code but it wouldn't hurt to check it out. Take care of yourself and let us know how things are going with you.

7. thank you! right now, the wind is our friend, it's barely blowing but it's UP the mountain, the

most dangerous thing will be in Santa Ana winds come, they will blow 40 to 50 mph DOWN the mountain, right onto town.
I live among beautiful original ALL WOODEN houses from 1887 , from when the town was founded, they'll go up like matchsticks, hope it doesn't happen, they've survived for 133 years so far!

9. Thanks for the update. I understand about the wooden houses. Most of the homes where I live have

wood sidings, including ours. Sending digital good vibes.

11. The CAL FIRE website pointed to the following agencies websites:

https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/article/7152/55535/
https://fire.lacounty.gov/bobcat-fire-status/

Not sure how often they update information, but there are a few phone numbers listed where you may be able to get more up to date info.

Stay safe, it looks pretty scary up there.
