(10,200 posts)...and our county health official in San Mateo County FINALLY announced stay at home order as of midnight Thursday. Like, two weeks after most of the other counties in the area. I hear there are only 9 ICU beds left in the county as of today.

(51,583 posts)I hadn't checked it since noon and now it is at 61,000 new cases and 400 new deaths. That is more than any other country, except Brazil, by 20,000 at least.

(51,583 posts)I had to look at the totals again for it to sink in...30,000 more than last week (double).
I am even paranoid about going in for a routine mammogram, yearly blood tests, etc.
I have noticed that there are a lot more cars out and about than there should be, like when there was a lockdown. Everyone I see is wearing a mask though.

BigmanPigman
(51,583 posts)That is the only answer I can think of. It does make sense and proves that too many don't have the sense they were born with and heed warnings.
