Recall of Gov Newsom

If Newsom is recalled and a Republican becomes Govenor then if Fienstein is gone the Repubs will appoint Repub Senator thus gaining control of the Senate back for the Republicans. That's the reason behind the recall.

I do think Newsom will survive a recall, though.

The curious thing about a recall in California is you vote if to recall and for the new governor on the same ballot. So we also need to have a singular strong Democratic candidate on the ballot as a replacement because the republicans are sure to have a clown car full of loonies on the ballot. That's how Arnold got elected. It may sound strange, but he was one of the sane choices.

So even if you vote to not recall Newsom, you will also be able to vote for a decent replacement if it comes down to that.
