Pasadena Gun Buy Back this Saturday

Pasadena Gun Buy Back this Saturday, May 11.

You can exchange your gun for a gift card from Ralph’s, Target or Best Buy, as follows:

•$50 for a non-working firearm
•$100 for handguns, rifles, or shotgun
•$200 for assault (military style) weapon

This buy back will occur on the Saturday before Mother’s Day, May 11th, from 11am to 3pm.

You can exchange multiple guns, each for a gift card. Ammunition can also be brought, but there is no gift card exchanges for ammunition.

There is a no-questions-asked policy. Please bring your unloaded firearm in your trunk of your car, and allow the police to remove it from your car. At that point, you will receive a gift card.

You will be driving south on Garfield to Walnut (near the police station), exchange your gun for a gift card on Garfield, and then drive west on Ramona to exit.

non-working and I guess they have a way of defining for "assault (military style) weapons" I hope this does not encourage stealing weapons due to the "no-questions-asked policy". I hope they do not accept empty tubes that look bad but are harmless and are non-functional. Otherwise I have no problems with this, some people have weapons that are no longer wanted.

They reported 135 guns were exchanged. No rocket launchers, however...

According to Lt. Tracey Ibarra, of the weapons collected, about half were rifles and half were pistols — and there were some especially notable items, including an AK-47 assault rifle, an SKS assault rifle and a sniper rifle with scope that would be repurposed by the department for training use.

was 137 guns. One unwelcome thing that happened was that people standing in line to sell back their guns were approached by others who wanted to buy them! My understanding is that police intervened successfully in those instances.
