Thousands of Democrats are changing their voter registration in Lauren Boebert’s district ahead of the primary

Thousands of voters have recently left the Democratic Party in Western Colorado — some as part of a grassroots effort to defeat Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert in her upcoming primary election.
...

For the last few years, Colorado’s “open primary” system has allowed unaffiliated voters to participate in either party’s primary elections. That means voters like Hallenborg can weigh in on Boebert’s primary run — without actually joining the Republican Party.

...

In total, the Democratic Party’s voter rolls in the district shrunk by about 3,700 people, or about 2.7%, from February through May, according to an analysis by CPR News. At the same time, the district saw unusual growth in its unaffiliated voter population. One political scientist, Seth Masket, described the findings as “stunning.”

...

And, statistically, something unusual is happening. No other Colorado district has seen a comparable change over the last few months; neither party has lost more than a few hundred voters in other areas in that time

I just rewatched the movie last week. Hadn't seen it for 20 years or more. I forgot just how clever and funny it is.

Apologies to the OP for the thread break.

In 2010, with former governor Granholm term limited,, a number of Dems crossed over to vote in the Michigan governor primary and voted for a virtual unknown, Rick Snyder, over several other established Republican names.

The thought process was that electing an unknown was better than having to run against a more established conservative and would be easier to beat since he had no name recognition and had never held elected office. Well guess what, not only did he win the primary, he also won the general. Passed Right to Work, a bunch of tax cuts, and turned out to be a hard core RW.

I can't conceiver of a worse representative in my district, with the possible exceptions of MTG, Cawthorne, and Gohmert, and thank god they are all spoken for.

Can't remember who it was but they took credit for getting the dirt on Madison Cawthorn and said she was next. Anything happening with that, I wonder?

So Pueblo's Latino vote is maybe revving up this time.
It's likely that the word is out from Dist. 2, Neguse's district (Boulder), to kick her out through the primary so the rest of the season won't be another one of her cheap slug fests.

Out of the seven districts in CO, her Dist. 3 is definitely a battleground district.

A couple of local news items about the districting, which has been done by an independent commission.

Include Boulder. If that is the case, she will have a tough time. Garfield and Mesa counties are small by comparison.
