I live in a small town in Colorado--about 1500 people. Last night a fire burned down the main shopping center in town. Over twenty businesses were destroyed. My family is okay, but a lot of my friends lost their businesses and jobs. This is gonna take a long time to come back from.

(103,806 posts)Devastated is the right term. Sounds like probably half of town burned. I have lived in small towns that size most of my life and I am sure this is a really hard hit for everyone there. Of course, some more than others.

(4,198 posts)About 23 businesses burned. Among them...my guitar teacher's shop, one of our favorite brewpubs, the only (excellent) Mexican food place in town, my husband's doctor's office, and the sheriff substation. That's just a few.
