$800M Greeley Development: What Residents Need to Know About Ballot Issue 1A

Greeley will be looking a bit different over the next couple of years.

Last year, we shared with you the news that the Colorado Eagles franchise struck a deal with the officials behind the Greeley entertainment district project.

“As we await the completion of construction, we are pleased to be able to continue to entertain our fans at Blue Arena, which has served as our home since our inaugural season in 2003-04. We will continue to provide the same outstanding experience that our fans have enjoyed for over two decades..." team officials said last year.

Now, the timeline for the development of this entire project might get put on hold.

Suffice it to say that the "developer" in question is very much a Trump-wannabe, people who've known him for years want nothing to do with his schemes. Sadly, the city council is dominated by trumpsters still in thrall to the myth of trump's business genius, the smell of the machinations every bit as pungent as the feedlots east of town. Other cities turned the guy down, with good reason. It's a mess that could very easily bankrupt the city, citizens be damned.
