My frustration is that we have such a shoddy grid for such high rates. It would be one thing if we had low rates and our current grid, but we pay the highest electric rate in the Continental US. I checked on the web and our delivery portion (including $16 connection fee) is higher than the total rate (generation+delivery) paid in 10 US states.

I had a lot of time in the dark this past year to let my blood boil with rage as I read about the CEO making $8.25 million, our high rates, and the lack of investment. The Republican dream of "Deregulation" sure worked out didn't it?

deregulation for a couple of decades and we fall behind on tree trimming and need billions in upgrades to our power grid.

(The $2.2 billion was just a start, if I recall. The total cost was like $4 billion)
