Democrats Criticize Visconti For 'Lynch' Post

The state Democratic Party says a Republican gubernatorial candidate's reference to lynching in a political post on Facebook is "sickening."

"Trump People should create a MOVEMENT called #LynchMob to force the indictment of former AG Loretta Lynch. Oh wait that's racist," Joe Visconti wrote in the post on Tuesday.

Democrats called on the state Republican Party chairman and the rest of the GOP candidates in the field to denounce Visconti's post.

"When people question whether or not President Trump's ethical dilemmas are part of the 2018 Gubernatorial race, here's your answer from one of the leaders of the Republican field," Michael Mandell, executive director of the Connecticut Democratic Party, said in a written statement.
