Car swallowed up by hole in road in Tenleytown.

'The rush hour commute in Tenleytown became a much more difficult drive for commuters Friday evening after a car was swallowed up by a large hole on the roadway.

With rain falling in the area, a car went into a hole that developed on Wisconsin Avenue and Tenley Circle in Northwest D.C. at around 7:15 p.m.

According to police, the road is undergoing construction in the area and is covered with metal plates. However, one of the plates gave way and a black Honda sedan ended up in it.

There were two people inside the vehicle, but there were no injuries, police said.

Two northbound lanes of Wisconsin Avenue and Tenley Circle have been closed for repairs.'
