WASHINGTON, DC A man was arrested for allegedly spitting on a bus driver during morning rush hour Tuesday, according to reports, just days after a Southeast woman threw a cup of her own urine on a bus driver.
Police arrested Coleman James Miller, 31, and charged him with simple assault, according to WJLA. The incident took place in the 4200 block of Minnesota Ave.
On Aug. 30, Opal L. Brown, 38, allegedly threw a cup of her urine at an X2 Metrobus driver. On-board digital cameras captured Brown relieving herself into a cup toward the back of the bus shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday. As the bus arrived at Minnesota Ave and Benning Road, NE, Brown allegedly threw the urine around the protective shield and onto the bus operator.
Brown, who has been a metro rider for 35 years, told an NBC Washington reporter that she was "provoked" because the bus driver was rude.

(205,225 posts)What is wrong with people??
Do you remember the story you posted once about the inebriated man who hijacked a bus? I "borrowed" that one and posted it on GasBuddy and got 60 recs! I think I'll skip this one...

(112,125 posts)I've been upset with bus drivers on rare occasions, but I've never had a thought in my mind to treat another human being so disrespectfully. Yelling or cursing at someone happens--particularly if someone else instigates it, but using bodily fluids as a weapon is where I draw the line.

(205,225 posts)And it has to be against the law - among the other things that are wrong with that. Cursing, you hear that all the time, but this crosses all sorts of lines. It seems like we're hearing about incidents like this more and more in the era of Trump.

(45,427 posts)I used to take the bus every day in Anacostia to work and they had protective cages around the driver but we passengers were at the mercy of whoever wants to kill us. There have been foul smells and what looks like feces on the seats on more than one occasion.
It was the Capitol Hill area where I got to hear multiple completely insane phone conversations. One woman was whining to someone that her husband or boyfriend wouldn't have sex with her anymore. Another one on the Georgetown-Union Station circulator was shouting profanity and was clearly pissed off.
There was a dude singing very loudly the lyrics to a sexually explicit song and some woman asked him nicely to keep it down because there were kids on board and he informed her "F the kids!, I don't give a F about these people!"
It still beats driving.
