JUST IN: The National Park Service says the bloom period has begun,

meaning 20% of the Yoshino trees are at full blossom. NEW PEAK BLOOM 🌸FORECAST is April 5th - 8th!

when I drove past the tidal basin on Saturday morning and there were some blooming.

There may be fewer tourists traveling to see it this year since it has been unpredictable for them to plan ahead.

and may only visit suburban streets with lots of cherry trees, but hoping there's some nice action. Weather STINKS, forecasts snow in Silver Spring Saturday, so I guess I'll wait til Sunday!
