Severe thunderstorm watch issued for the immediate DC area and points northeast through 4p Thursday.

Showers and storms passing through northern half of region now (12:15p Thursday)...but high winds are most likely as cold front passes from west to east in next hour, and in the front's wake. Gusts of at least 40 to 50 mph are possible.

Let us know what you're seeing, and we appreciate any reports.

I just hung up a few things on the line. The wind is up, from the northwest. I am in Alexandria. I still have blue skies, but I think they won't last long.

I had a window open. It is now shut.

'officially' WNW @ 20 mph, 'mostly sunny' with clouds. 70 degrees.

Need to go out to pick up a few things, so waiting for the right time.

feels very nice.

There was a thunderstorm warning saying there may be trees knocked down from high winds but I haven't seen it here yet.
